Chapter 6 · GitHub facts 2026-10-22

Beancount

What it does

The README describes a double-entry bookkeeping language: transactions in a text file, loaded into memory, with reports and a web interface. pyproject.toml depends on click, python-dateutil, and regex. GitHub also reports C and HTML besides Python. This list files Beancount as a plaintext ledger that bookkeeping agents often target. It is not itself an LLM agent.
